Default Maintenance Light

Okay, my maintenance light blinks for a few seconds every time I start the car. What can I do about this? I'm an engine/mechanic noob. Should I just bring it in somewhere? Or are there easy things I can do to try to fix this?

That light is the factory reminder to change your oil. It comes on every 7500 miles. There is a greenish blue button underneath the steering column where your right knee would be. You have to push and hold it when you turn the ignition to turn it off.

It is a square blue button, down near the fuse panel but like they said, its on the right, near you knee or shin. Hold with the key on 2 until it goes away.

ok so if you read the OP the light isn't actually on yet. I don't know the actual numbers but i belive it will blink after 2500 miles and then be on steady after 3000 miles. Then you hit the button to reset it, like everyone described. Someone will probably correct me cuz i really don't think i got the numbers right. Regardless it's not a big deal. BTW i don't think you can reset the light until it is on steady, so if it's only blinking you're going to have to wait until it stays on.

That light doesn't stay on all the time anyway. It just begins to stay on longer than the others and blinks at you, but then goes off.
