my fuel setup is hondata 2b, aem fpr, walbro intank pump and rc 440cc injectors. baseline fuel pressure is set at ~45 right now.

so turning up the fuel pressure can compensate for the lack of fuel? what about retarding timing?

White = Lean.

Should be brownish or black if running rich.

45 atmospheric right? As in with the hose off. You should set it around 50 atmospheric.
My plugs looked like that before I had a new map put into the ecu. Then again my stock fuel pump couldnt deliver either.

Not really, but then again I also run open dp. I wish I had an EGT though. I think I may have cracked a ringland or hurt one of the pistons, cause now I am burning oil. But a leakdown and compression shows minimal damage?!? Weird...

Be careful. Get on a wideband. Invest in an EGT (my next purchase).

White plugs does not always mean "lean". How many miles were they in the car?
The magic tan color doesnt automatically appear on the plugs, you gotta run them for a short while before you can really get a reading from them.

Well, I didnt know. Just to give you an understanding to possibly why: I think I was sent the wrong map for my hondata. Like I said, be careful!!! Make sure you get with your dealer that you purchased from and figure out if you have the right map. Also seek out a stage 4 user in your area so that you can go over this with them, or if they can email rom's to your dealer. I was lucky enough to have racerxadam live nearby and if it wasnt for him, I might not have a motor right now.

hmm i'll say less than 30 miles. i first noticed the pinging sound monday when i drove home from work. didn't drive tuesday while i fixed an oil leak and i drove to work today, ragged on the car a little at lunch, then some more when i drove home. i can't hear the pinging at all during boost and only when i gas about 1/3 throttle during acceleration.

the plugs definately don't look right though .. too much white/gray.

I highly doubt that you have enough miles on those plugs to get a decent reading, 30 ain't ****...

yea true, 30 miles is deffently not enough to get a good reading...go like a 1000 then pull em. Do you have a a/f guage??? best way to see if your running lean..

50-100 miles is enough for the reading to show up. I pulled my plugs out after 15 miles when I was running REALLY rich and the damn things where fouled up already. Also... get COLDER plugs!! If you are running the stock plugs in the engine you can run all the fuel you want, but they will still be white. You have to run 1 heat range colder for turbo with intercooler... 2 for supercharger or turbo w/o intercooler. The 2 heat ranged colder plugs on both apps are for anyone running 8-10 psi... much more heat there.

If you don't have colder plugs, get them... Then try it again... Also bring up the fuel a bit, but the plug heat range is a bigger factor then what people think... especially with detonation...

Clean the plugs and put them back in. Then after a hard 3rd pull (granted no pinging) check the plugs again. They will be most accurate then.

Wow...it a mirror image of my plugs.

Hey, Trigun....I put my fuel pressure up to 4.2kg/cm^2(60psi) and my plugs were still coming out white with pretty much no boosting. Highest EGT I saw was in the 620C range. I think you should get it tuned with a wideband. I would hate to see you damage your engine.

If you notice the outer ring of the plug is already blacked, yet the ground strap and insulation are BRIGHT WHITE.. that's definatley lean and not on a super low milleage plug..
