What do you guys use to crimp 0-4 gauge wire? I went to several audio shops and electronic stores and found nothing.
In the install bay, we have these big *** crimpers that weigh a good 15-20 lbs or so. You put the ring terminal in this 4 sided thingy and squeeze and works for anything from 0-8 gauge.
I have seen this metal tap thing before where the middle is shaped like a V. On top is another V but it's upside down. You stick the terminal ring in and you bang on the top with a mallet. It's sort like a vise but would surround the crimp 360 degrees.
I don't know if any of this helps.... You could use a pair of visegrips or look into those crimpless ring terminals.
Have you looked at Home Depot? I looked though the ratshack catalog but couldn't find anything

You can also use the kind without insulation and solder it with a propane torch. The big thing is to get a gas-tight joint that won't corrode over time.
