Default Correct break in procedure for rebuilt bottom end?

I'll be getting my shortblock back from the machine shop in a week. It'll have new pistons, rings, rods, bearings, wrist pins and seals. The clutch (in-organic) and flywheel will be new too. I've heard 500 miles of stop and go granny driving for the clutch\flywheel. Ive heard max 3000 rpm for 200 miles, then up rpm limit by 1000 for each 200 miles after until 1000 miles for the internals to seat\break in properly. Does this sound correct? Thanks!

if the build is done correctly, 150 miles is all you should need, as per the crew chief of Bergenholtz racing and head tech at pactell engine management, NATHAN TASUKON. With r&d at gude, tech at AEBS, and his present positions, I don't doubt his wrd one bit...BUT, It's up to you; 2000 miles, broken into 4 sections of 500 miles with an 5w-30 conventinal oil change after every stage is what i do with all my builds, to catch any problems before they become disastrous...first 500 miles <4000rpm, change oil...next 500 miles <6000rpm, change oil....next 500 miles <7000rpm change oil, next 500 <9000 rpm, change oil, it's def overkill but hoo cares? what is the rush, for the peace of mind!

Use non-detergent oil. It's good stuff for ring seal.
