Most comfortable ride will be the lowering spring that lowers the least on a set of oem shocks or upgraded shocks. Look for a spring that lowers about 1"-1.25".

i personally have Tein SS Coilovers.. i don't experience those cling, clunks or whatever.. very comfortable better then stock. and of course my handling improved.

Keep in mind the stock shocks/struts are suited for the stock springs.
Changing the spring rate... and you will be underdamped and bouncy. Coilover sleeves + koni yellows is such a cheap efficient way to go....
