Default magnaflow muffler sizing

hey I need to know the biggest size that will fit on a 4th gen.

I currently have a non-magnaflow 16" length muffler quite wide in girth, but looking through a magnaflow catalog at an automotive shop on their ovals I only saw 14" and 18" lengths will a 18" still fit on the lude? any recommendations on what size oval otherwise? I just want it quiet and I'm pairing it with a kteller stainless 2.5" piping kit, with 22" resonator and magnaflow/carsound hi-flow cat.

Keep in mind the 14 and 18 inches are just the muffler body, the tips can range from another 4-8 inches.

I'm using a 14" magnaflow with a 4" long tip and I dont think it would fit if it were 4 inches longer.

I dont know how much you want the tip to extend past the rear bumper though.

thanks for the response, yea, I definetley want it discreet... so 14" it is then

I'm thinking the 5x8 14"er (14218 i think), but I sorta wanna retain dual tip too, for a stockish look.

That should work out nicely. I'm also using a 14", 5x8 oval body muffler... single tip though and 2.25 inlet.

yah It worked out nice, I'm quite happy with the results, with the 2.5" piping hiflow cat and 22" res it's definetley low and deep and not obnoxious at all - if ANYTHING perhaps a little louder than I would have liked, but you can't win em all. they managed to tuck the muffler quite high too which was a bonus as I don't really dig that greddy look. i'll post pics sometime.

thanks again for your help.

as promised...

also for anyone getting a 22" length, I'd like to see how that fits!, with the kteller mandrel bends I think that would be extremely hard to fit properly.

shadows interfere a bit, shoulda reparked, but oh well.

Looks good! Did you end up going with the 14" length muffler or the 18" length?
Did you add tips to the muffler or is that just the standard dual outlets that come on the muffler? What size outlets does the muffler have? It looks like 2.5" if I had to guess.

I'm looking to build a custom exhaust basically exactly like this and would love to hear your feedback
