your better off going with the z6.
its easier to find, easier to find parts for, and has the potential to make more power.

Read This: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=635580

The 92-95 Civic VTi has the regular D15B VTEC
96-00 Civic has the 3-Stage VTEC

They are similar to the Z6 but not the same. Look at https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1085494 and see parts list

d15b is a 1.5L SOHC vtec
d16z6 is a 1.6L SOHC vtec

so the z6 has more displacement they are quite similar the jdm d15b has a more aggressive cam similar to a zex 59300 that is how the jdm 1.5 makes as much power as our usdm 1.6.

Personally I am running a z6 with a zex cam...I chose to use the right ecu and use the p28 and convert the car to obd1 since the p28 is for the z6. I love it car is reliable and runs like a champ....no codes....no hassles

Cool! i got a Sohc Vtec, no wonder it picks up diffrently then a D15B2.

My friend was telling me how the car felt like it had more power, but i wasn't so sure if it was the type of engine that was making it seem like it has more power, or the fact that it's just such a small light car.

Isn't a D15B2 has like 96HP?

A D15 has 125 - 130HP?

they are the exactly the same, but p28 uses 4 wire O2 sensor, and p08 just one wire

Not exactly the same.

P08:
- Is in a smaller case
- Has most all Surface Mount components (harder for amateurs) also meaning different type compenents to chip it
- Has Fuel and Timing Maps for JDM D15B VTEC
- Uses single wire O2 sensor
- Has no PA Sensor built in
- Maybe a few other things but I can't think of them right now

P28:
- Larger case that doesn't easily fit underneath the stock EF/ED Civic CRX ECU covers
- Has mostly Through-Hole designed compenents (Easier for beginners to chip)
- Has Fuel and Timing Maps for USDM D16Z6
- Uses 4-wire O2 Sensor
- Has a PA Sensor built-in

Now these are "huge" differences to most people and their applications, but they are not the 'exact' same. I wish I had kept my P08 personally.

BTW, you can make a P08 use the heater unit in the 4-wire O2 by adding in components inside the ECu and you can make the P28 use a single wire by modifying the ROM.

Doing those usual tune ups is really going to give you peace of mind

What is wrong with your current mounts?

I used Prothane Engine Mount Inserts. They have a kit that includes all four mounts. I liked them. Pretty cheap too ~$30 for the set. Hardest to install was the rear mount. I purchased my kit from lightningmotorsports.com I'm sure many other places carry it though.
