What did you guys use for the 40mm wrench? The OP said a box wrench won't work, so I guess using a crescent wrench would probably be out of the question as well.

And making your own, that just seems nuts

 

I got one at work...it's a special tool that must be ordered through Honda parts. You'll need to get the part number from the service manual to order it- most parts guys have no clue what it is.

It's tough to reach in there...the Honda one I have is angled and works perfectly

Just don't overtighten it
