Default cracked manifold please help

i just took off the heat shield to exaust manifold on my 96 civic dx hatch and saw that it was cracked. what would be the better choice to replace the stock manifold or go with the ex manifold. how would i fit a cat after the ex manifold setup. which would be cheaper

Go with the EX manifold, the DX one will always crack.

Depends on the what manifold, what state you live in, and what your looking to do. Best bet would be just weld it.

get an EX manifold and EX cat and have a muffler shop weld it on Your catalytic converter will be welded onto your remaining exhaust system UNDER the car Mine's cracked as well but I just had it welded shut and its doing fine so far, been going strong for like 4 months

hey i got the same problem with my Ex (canadian built) with a d16y7 . I was told that changing to the usdm ex exhaust setup will cause your car to throw an engine code and run rich !! thats why i am looking for some info as well !! anyone know what we can do to fix this problem ?

my cracked manifold didn't make my CEL go on but it did make annoying noises and to answer the other guy, no it shouldn't throw a code or anything, you'll have to extend the second o2 sensor to reach the cat (which will now be UNDER the car) or I think you can run an o2 sim (someone check that for me) and you'll be fine
