Default b18b1 ls block, which internals are people using?

i am going to start building the bottom end of my ls and i was wondering what other people are running, like what compression ratio, what kind of pistons and rods, bearings, crank? i want to take my boost from 10 psi to about 20 psi, and be able to redline at 10000 or 11000 RPMS. can anyone help me with some suggestions or post your setups... i have the head figured out, its going to be a gsr head to create an ls/vtec and it will be capable of 11000rpms i just want to start buying bottom end parts and was wondering whose the best companies out there for what im planning on running. ohh and who sells parts, with good prices!

b18a1
srp 81.5mm 8.5 to 1 c/r
eagle rods w/ big bolts
micropolished ls crank
oem bearings

I don't know if your going to want to take Eagle rods up to 11k.
I bought all of my internals through race engineering but their are many places with good pricing. Hope this helps.

my goal is 20 psi and see what power i make off of that, between 350 and 500hp, and my as for a budget, Thats why im asking what other people are using!!!

you want to redline to 11,000 rpms on the street With boost? first off, lets get back to the real world and go from there

So you want something that will make between 350-500 on 20 psi. There are more than a dozen turbochargers that will put you between there. But if you must know, custom D16A6 pistons, Type R rods, 13000 rpm and 20 psi I make 1000whp. My sh*t's sick.

if you want to redline at 11,000 rpms, i would suggest using a gt42r turbo.
btw,
b18b1 block, 84mm aebs, cp pistons, pauter rods, acl bearings, ls crank micropolished and balanced, gsr windage, oil pickup, p73 oil pump

well lets start off first by saying im not a COMPLETE IDOIT, ANS SECOND BY MY HATCH IS ALREADY BOOSTED! I HAVE 250HP ON 10PSI ans STOCK internals, thats why i want to build a motor. i am just curious on what internals people are using and their results... thanks for the posts guys... is it better to run an aftermarket crank or get my ls micropoilshed??

ls crank will take 600+hp, micropolishing makes all the journals smooth for new bearings and can be used to adjust tollerence. I don't think your an idiot but revving a street motor to 11K is redicuus, I think you can easily hit your power goals with a mildly sized turbo, sleeves, rods and pistons. Have your bottom end balanced and you can rev an ls/vtec to 8,500 all day.

well thats what theyre getting at with setting power goals and a budget. cuz you can boost 20psi on a td05 and make 270whp, whereas you can boost 20psi on a gt40r and make 500+ whp. so if you let people know how much power you want to put down, they can tell you what best suits your needs and budget.
if you want sub 400whp daily, just grab eagle rods and cp or wiseco pistons. if you want more than that, i would recommend sleeving your block. then grab some ferrea or skunk springs and retainers (valves as well if you can afford them) and throw those in your vtec head and with a decent powerband turbo, you can shift around 9200ish rpms. anything after that, or maybe even 9200 might be too high depending on your turbo, would be pointless because you lose acceleration. hence, going with a turbo like a gt42r (spools later) to hold power until 11,000 rpms. imo a 40r or a 42r is way too big for street use so youre looking at gt30r, gt35r, 60-1, super 60, or a standard t3/t4 journal.
ls crank is good to go, just change out your oil pickup and windage tray to gsr. some people get their crank knife edged but i dont think it really benefits a turbo car the same way it does to all motor

hey thanks a lot for the info, and by saying i want it to handle 10 to 11000 rpms i dont mean i am going to pound the **** out of it and always have it there, it was just a goal to look at, because if i know my internals are good up to 10 grand i wont feel worried about revving to 9500rpms. do u know what eagle rods are rated at, rpm wise??

what im picturing right now is an ls block, sleeved with low compression pistons ls crank, gsr oil pump and windage, and a set of rods that can handle 10000rps. and having the whole thing balanced, and i think i should be good until 10000. and my gsr head is gonna get a valvetrain package from kms engine development and a set of stage 2 turbo crower cams here is the valve train package http://www.honda-performance.com/valve-train.asp thanks again for any info provided

if you want it to handle 11k rpms, for sure i would go with ferrea. not that kms isnt good, just not sure id use them to 10k+. eagle rods are rated up there, it depends also on how your crank is balanced as to the rpm tolerance.
golden eagle sleeves, cp or wiseco pistons, eagle rods and you should be good to go

obviously he doesnt really know what hes talking about, which is why he did a post asking for peoples opinions and help. you dont have to be so rude. if youre not contributing, youre crapping

build it for a power goal, rev to where it stops making power

thats what im saying- he doesnt know any better. you see cars at the track that are revving to 11k and you say 'oh, hes making power to 11k so i want to rev to 11k and make power like that'

thats what i was trying to explain to him tho, hes only gonna make power with a sub gt40 to about 9200ish rpms. my point is that you shouldnt flame him because he came on here to get help and opinions.

im spinning eagles to 10k. still on stock valves.
springs, retainers, cams, 9.5 cr cam selection and cr will limit where
your tourqe curve will drop off at. dont expect to spool before
6k with a turbo large enough to turn you up that high.
if your looking for a streetable drive dont go to big on injectors.
Im using 880s and wish i had gone with 440s and 440s secondary

If you can't get 880's to be streetable, you just suck at tuning/life. I run 1600's in my Integra with an FJO injector driver box, and amazingly it runs perfectly smooth and it's my daily driver. Keep dreaming.

LOL! wow that had me laughing
yea, you can run up to 1000cc injectors without too many issues daily. 1600cc is pretty crazy tho, not sure id go that high even with 600whp

I run injectors nearly twice the size and my car will sit in rush hour stop and go traffic all day without being herky jerky.
