That PR3-X is just the casting stamp for the head. It ranges from PR3-1 to PR3-4. It could also be a B16 head. You should look for a green slab of paint near the dizzy. That will tell you if it's an ITR head or not.

It could possibly be a Del Sol VTEC head or even a Civic Si head, maybe.

ITR and B16 heads have PR3-2 or 4.

My 99-00 head from b16a2 has PR3-4 and so does my 00 ITR
My B16A Gen 2 has PR3-2

I beileve you have to look inside the head to see if the cambers are worked to really tell if it is a real itr head.

hope that helps.

Let me try this again, if it is stamped with a PR3-1, PR3-2, PR3-3, or PR3-4, it is either a B16 head (civic si, del slow vtec) or an ITR head. That PR3-X is the type of casting of the head.

You should be looking for a slab of green paint on the back of the head, near the distrubutor. That green paint will tell you if it is an ITR head or not.

I believe that was Honda's way of picking the best heads from the factory.

let's add that it could also be from a JDM 88-00 Civic SiR or 90-93 Integra Xsi. just because it has a 97, 98, 99, or 00 year stamp on it doesn't mean it is ITR like a previous poster said.

That's the point I was trying to make, Thanks
