Same for Civic Si, Del Sol VTEC, Civic Type R, etc..

Those numbers dont tell you what motor its from.

PR3-1,2,3,4 are just generations. A PR3-1 is an older head-I got a new ITR head from Acura last year and it was a PR3-4. My 01 ITR has a PR3-3 head on it. B16 heads are also a PR3 casting.

green paint on the head where the dist. bolt on to, the very back. that means it a itr head. or someone painted it.

My '97 ITR motor has a PR3-1 stamp. My '00 JDM ITR head has a PR3-4 stamp. My old B17a head had a PR3-1 stamp.

The last digit is just the casting number, no relevance to what model or make the head is for.

so JDM and USDM R heads are the same(as well as 99-00 USDM Si)?

type r heads are ported, usdm or jdm.
non type r heads are not. both heads comes off the same mold but from there typ er heads gets thier bowls ported, and when done they slap green paint so they can identify which is which. if your going to port and polish the heads anyways get a regular pr3 heads. not type r
