Get a flathead and electrical tape. Wrap the tape around the head.

Take out the haz. button and defrost button.2 phillips screw are behind them.

00ps I forgot the rest. I'll be back

be careful.

1. Unhook the temp contol cable (under passenger side center console)
2. Pry the 2 hazard light and defroster buttons off
3. Phillips head, remove 2 screws shown when your buttons are removed
4. pull unit halfway out
5. reach inside and disconnect the green wire harness on the temp. control.

(good luck, its a pain in the *** to mess with, beacuse there is like no room to fit your hands in there)

What's different about the ITR one vs the GSR one?

its really not that difficult to do, if you have basic radio install knowledge it's a breeze. It's just like he said two posts ago. Good luck

yeah, i'll be installing my itr / cf a/c climate control in a few days.
need to know how to remove this without breaking it.
so to clear things up:
remove wire underneath passenger side.
pop off hazard and heat button with screwdriver and remove screws behind it,
pull unit half way out and remove 1 wire.
anything else?

Bust out the sawed-off 12-guage shotgun.

maybe I should attempt this... the bulb behind my 1 2 3 4 fan speed indicator is burned out and is very annoying.

DO IT PatrickGSR94!!

I did it to my climate control and it looks SOOO much better to have light in the climate control.

anyways, it was pretty easy to do it just follow the directions above. The climate control will not fully come out but you can change out the bulbs without removing the whole thing(which is a PAIN).

I tried to do that a while back and I busted the plastic bracket for the metal clips on the defrost button. I unscrewed the screws behind the hazard and defrost. I couldn't get the climate control unit out. I have the same problem with the illumination off. The funny thing is, they come on once in a blue moon, as if they're loose or something.

same here the climate control/rear defroster button comes on when it feels like it..although i removed both hazard light and rear defroster button...there were no screws behind that...i actully saw the lil bulb for the rear defroster and hazards but am i supposed to remove the whole switch or just the actual button the gets pressed..need to get this working right..looks much more nicer with all the lights lit up like there suposed to....thanks
