Exhaust valves, it's what's for dinner
looks like he floated a valve... revving too high, the valves dont have time to spring back up before the pistion hits the top of the cylander... valve is still down a little and WHAMMO, broken valve

That's straight up chippage right there. I had 30psi compression in the 3rd cylinder so we knew somin was screwed up big time. No idea what caused it though, cause I haven't misshifted, overreved or anything, I basically baby the car and have barely been driving it lately.
As we proceeded to remove the head, after taking the valve cover off, the plastic cover over the timing belt, the inside part, was pushed up against and under the belt. So what we're thinking is, its been like that for a while and is what caused my car to rip 10 teeth off the timing belt last year, and then this time somehow caused piston contact because my spark plug tip was bent up. Luckily the piston was fine.
