Default how can I tell the difference between an auto p28 ecu and a 5-speed one?

I got a hold of a p28 ecu and was wondering if it is for an auto or manual tranny.
Is there any way I can figure this out by looking at the ecu label? Can anyone help out? I want to have the correct ecu for my swap.

thanks,
L.

most 5spd will be as follows:
37820-P28-A01 or A00 or C00 or C01

auto will be as follows:
37820-P28-A51 or 901 or C51

in the last code first number represents the country (A=USDM, C=Canada)
5 is always a AUTO, last number is just a revision code for the board (IPT or den.) or at times different setup (EX coupe or si hatch and so on)
901 is found on very few ecus and is always an auto (mostly JDM ecus)

I have an ECU, its not a P28 and the letter that follows is an L. You said A=USDM, C=Canada, what does L mean?
