What so bad about the ebay turbo?
Hope that it's just not only me. Have any of you ever been on ebay and seen those "complete" turbo kits on the red mats? haha Well I was just wondering, they do use garrett turbos, and they do look somewhat "complete", so what is so bad about these kits...........and what is good about them? ........any comments would help.

not to be rude but I gaurantee you you will find an answer for 99% of what your looking for if you you use the search option first. This topic has been covered a bunch of times. Try searching for "SSAC turbo" or "ebay turbo" best advice i can give.
Well from what I've read, one time the actual turbo broke in half on someone here and it looked like it was held together by epoxy.
And countless manifolds have cracked within a month due to lack of support mounts.
Just do it right the first time and get a good kit.

i think the quality matters on this part,
I rather get quality parts that is worth my money.
I think ebay stuff does attract buyers, but doesnt last long. i could be wrong

One's made in the US (Kmart) while the other is made in Cambodia, Nepal & Indonesia (A&F) for less then a penny and sold for way more then it's worth, but neither one will make your car faster.
In this case, many of the EBAY kits are reversed engineered kits using inferior production and manufacturing methods to cut corners and reduce costs. Will they work? Yes, but the reliability and durabilty are suspect and you'll have no warranty on anything. When going to Forced Induction, if your looking for longevity, it will cost you more to do it right, but you will have less headaches and broken parts. Any FI project will have it's reliablitly issues, so it in your best interest to minimize that risk by using reputible manufacturers that stand by their product.

this all doesn't mean that you can't buy a turbo from ebay, just don't get those SSAC complet kits because they are cheap, but a Name brand (make sure you see a stamp on the turbo or documentation) is not a bad thing from ebay because it will save you some money, but you will still be spending a good amount overall
do your research, you don't want to have to replace your parts later

its just a matter of cost and price
price you pay now to save$$$ on product + more repairs down the road
or
cost price you pay now and $$$ you save down the road.
hope that answers your question...
