EP3 Rear seat in a EK Hatch, or EP3 center console into EK hatch?
Anybody seen this done, got pics, does it bolt up, does it line up without gaps?
How about the EP3 center console? Has anybody swapped that into a EK Hatch?
Pics, does it line up nice, ect. ect.
Please help cosmetic appearance gurus out there.

okay this is about ITR stuff, but here are some posts I found while searching for 4 hours.
althouh this has been covered god knows how many times, i understand searching isn't a 1-2-3 thing...ok, now on to the good stuff..i have gsr seats im my ek hatch and they are the same as the usdm itr seats with the exception of leather vs. cloth but installation works the same way. the following are your options:
1. you can take off the apholstery off the itr seats and your ek seats and wrap the itr apholstery onto your bare stock ek seats (this is by far the less ghettofab way to do it because it will look as it came that way, but is not easy wrapping them)
2. or you can do this which works, but would not fit in like a glove

Re: EP3 Rear seat in a EK Hatch, or EP3 center console into EK hatch? (rice is nice)
EDIT - this for ITR seats in a 96-00 hatch
I tried to do a lot of research one this & this is what I came up with...
dc2 R seats (2dr) the bottom bench section will leave a gap on both sides...which there are three solutions to:
1.) the best solution is to use the bottom section of a 4dr ITR (chassis code db8) this will fill the gap...major drawback is the back section of the 4dr ITR is all one piece (ie no 50/50 split) - NOTE this is most likely going to be more expensive because you will have to purchase a db8 ITR rear seat & a dc2 ITR rear seat because NOBODY sells the top & bottom separately (to my knowledge)...I have seen 4dr ITR seats on ebay as well as HT classifieds
2.)take the skins off the 2dr ITR bottom section & put them on the Ek bottom section of the seats. I remember reading of only one member who did this & it took them several hours. by doing this you will eliminate the gap but the red stiching will not line up on the edge of the seat
3.) use the dc2 ITR bottom section like the link posted above (merritt) & deal with the gap
for the back portion the BEST way would be to
1.) take the skins of the ITR seats & put them on the Ek's seat backs...looks good no major draw backs (to my knowledge)
2.) just use the ITR seat backs & you'll get a 'lil gap like shown in the pics above

http://www.merritr.com/seats.html
this is a link that people refer to often about the ITR seats.
What i'm wondering, is if you use the 2 door seat bottom, is there a gap on the sides, or a gap between the seat bottom and the seat back, like in the link agove.
Also, after that post right agove this one, it says if you don't take the skin and put it over the EK seats, you will have a gap, where is this gap, is it betweeen the seat back and the seat bottom cushion?

Re: EP3 Rear seat in a EK Hatch, or EP3 center console into EK hatch? (rice is nice)
Another post by some guy on here.
"If it's a USDM seat, the lower half off the rear seat will not fit in the hatchbacks. The integra one is too short and not wide enough. I'm in the process of getting a civic restitched to black and red....blah blah yeah its not JDM but at least it will fit and match my interior. That's the best help I can give you. "
Now i'm wondering, are the JDM seats wide enough or something? Is there a difference between the JDM and USDM 2 door Type R rear seats, or just that the JDM had a 4 door Type R rear seat?

Another great link about EP3 seat swapping. Seems like Recaro seat rails will get them to fit.

Hello
Here is some new pic of my ep3 seat swap in my eg..
The only way to get the EP3 seat to fit perfekt in a EG, is to take the rails from the dc2 seats, because they have a low profil, then you cut the original ep3 rails of, and weld the dc2 rails on them. that's how I did it, and they just work perfekt.
next projekt, komplet dc2 dashbord swap (just waiting to be installed) and dc2 rearseat..
Just startet the rearseat projekt, a lot of hours ahead. but have found out a plan to get them to fit perfekt, also with space..

So how do you plan to get the rearseats to fit pefect without space? Is your EG an SI? I saw the power windows, and wondered if the DX hatch ever had power windows.
I'm looking for an EK, but I want power everything. I'll sacrifice weight for luxury. Anyways, those seats look sweet, way to go. I'd also suggest black carpeting. That's what i'm going to be doing once I find my car. LOL

When the dc2 dashbord is installed, I will change to a black carbet. everything will be black, I even have dc2 seatbelts, they are also black. The pictures that I have postet now, is how it's looks like right now. but all that should change within the next month.
About the space at the rearseat, I'm going to custom alot, rebuild some af the rearside interiør. gonna take some hours, but should be posibel. My car is a EX, I'm running a modified NA d16z6.
