Default Help!

hey guys,
i have 93si hb. and i have a problem that i can't seem to find what it is.
when i drive, the steering wheel turns instantly and goes back to initial position. like, it's hard to explain but, the steering wheel kinda "jumps" to left constantly.
it's not due to bad alignment or rims or tire. the car goes straight, it just whenever i accelerate, the steering wheel keeps on "jumping" to one direction. i can't barely hold it steady, it looks as if im shaking the wheel left to right cuz it constantly jumps.
now, i did lift up my car and check if there's any joints that are lose, and everything seems to be really tight. So i figured, maybe it could be the rack pinion. i installed a brand new rack pinion therefore. After installing that, it drove smoothly again for a while then the problem came back.
I don't think there's anything wrong with direction shafts. the key point is, when im just cruising without putting any gas, it drives perfectly smooth, but as soon as i step on gas it starts to shake brutally. I even tried to cruise with gear in, and gear out. but didn't make any difference. When it's cruising, it doesn't matter if the gear is in or out, it drives smoothly. It's just when i press gas, then holy,.it shakes like crazy.
i thought and thought and couldn't figure out why it does that only when im accelerating.

the similar thing happened before with my other hb, the steering wheel also was shaking only when im applying gas or brake. And that was due to the losen rim. the bolts weren't tightened properly and create a tiny tiny space.
But it doesn't seem to be the case this time...

any of u have same experience?
damn it,, i can't figure it out, help please!

yea i already went to a garage, that's where i installed the rack pinion.
we checked everything that can possible cause this and we concluded that it was rack pinion. but i guess we were wrong.
so now i really have noclue what to touch or what to look into

i mean, why would it just shake only when im accelerating if there's something crooked physically on the car? if a drive shaft or direction shaft is somehow bent or something, wouldn't it make the steering wheel to shake at anytime?
another important thing, the shaking starts when the car gets warm. (we are talking about here in montreal canada, it's freezing here). the steering wheel starts to shake after driving for about 10~15mins... that's another thing that confuses me :s

I was honestly thinking a trans issue until you said it was with the clutch in and out so I'm guessing no since I thought the driveshafts going back and forth in the trans while it's spinning... so a bump for you. I'd like to see what answers come or what the resolve is.

thx.. yea i was scared that the prob could be on the tranny. Maybe the LSD?
but then again, there's nothing wrong with shifting through gears. no noise, it just precise as it always was.

something is causing the wheel to shake, and therefore my steering wheel is shaking as well. only when the gas is applied.
man this is hard :s

Man, you never mentioned LSD.. I didn't know that.

Yes, it's probably something transmission related, especially if you have LSD considering the fact you know exactly what LSD will do.

and also another hint,
the shaking is directly related to the wheel rotation. In other word, when i go fast, it shakes fast, when i go slow it shakes slow.
when i go super slow, the steering looks as if it turns itself to one direction and slowly comes back to normal position, and it turn itself again, goes back to normal.

yea, i have an lsd. it's a 93 si hb with ITR mechanics
yea, that's what i was thinking, because i dunno if u have an lsd on ur car,
but u can actually feel when the lsd is in action. maybe that's not how u exactly feel but for me when i go on a curve, i can feel the lsd in action and it kinda holds the steering wheel to the direction im going since it's really adjusting the rotation of both front wheels. so it requires less strenght for me to hold the steering wheel to the direction i want to go.
And the steering wheel shaking that im feeling now, it almost feels the same when i go on the curve but instead of holding tight to the direction im turning, it keeps on "jumping/shaking". and when u turn the opposite direction(turning right), the shaking is much calmer than turning left.

and don't forget the fact that it starts shaking only when the car gets warm..
consider this in the diagnose,
it's soo confusing for me. any smart ppl can point me out where to look at?

Seriously, I think you should find a way to check that transmission or LSD.

Is LSD a part that can be removed from the tranny?
is it possible to use my tranny without lsd?
