i am going to put an h22 in a crx next winter. the car is a 1990 si, i understand most of the things required to do it. i want to use the hasport mounts and i read you cant use the stock hood because of valve cover clearance. would it be possible to use a zc cf hood?

one person you can definetly ask is a kat on here that goes by explicedperformance or something like that. go to the search fourm, and search for h22 mounts and his screen name should pop up as one of the authors. he has his own custom made mounts for his h22 in is ef and you can get a set from him as well. ill try to find the name
ok his screen name on here is ExplicitSpeed360. send him a pm and see what he says. also check out his web site. http://www.ExplicitSpeedPerformance.net
the stock hood can be used with the hasport mounts, i dunno where you got your info from but.... if you want verification ask bian on these boards he works for hasport i think his screen name is "brian g"

Sport compact (working directly with Hasport) did an issue on swapping an h22 and they specificly said the inner stucture on the hood would NOT clear the valve cover. They said a gutted stock hood would work. Thanks for a step in the right direction though.

with my kits just about 1/2" of hood clearance between the highest point on the H22 valve cover to the stock usdm hood. Ground clearance is 3 1/2" on a 2" drop. Please check out the site for more H22 EF info.-John

No, you saw my post in the hybrid forum. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1646586
The Hasport kit will not clear the USDM OEM hood unless you actually cut a hole in the hood or space it up an inch in the rear & 1/4" up front.
It won't even clear a VIS SiR style (USDM fitment) CF hood, almost does though. Apparently it will clear the fiberimages Sir style CF hood (no skeleton underneath) & maybe some other brands. It might clear a JDM SiR metal hood, but probably would require a little cutting of the skeleton or spacing it up a little.

I typically hate on H22 swaps in a crx, but I just checked out you site, and I applaude your work. If I was going to do an H22 swap I would use your mounts, your engine placement looks great, I just wonder how your axle angle is. I would still never do a h22 swap in a crx, but your kit looks great, and the price is right.

Good work, you could even come a little lower with it. Thats at 2" drop too right?
edit: BTW you should put that pic on your site.
