Default Can a D series block handle forced induction

I plan on building my D16a up for a turbo sometime in the future. My question is, what exactly should I do besides better rods/pistons/fasteners? Do I need to resleeve it? Other stuff?
Thanks!

All that depends on how much HP you want to make,,This guy near me tuned a stock block turbo d16z6 to 300+ HP..Im not saying any idiot can do that just telling you that they're not that weak..

from what i hear, it depends on the tune and the psi. if the engine is fine (can pass a compresson and leak test) then everything stock should be fine till around 6-8 psi.

the common problem with a boosted d-series is maybe head lift. so if anything a new gasket and head bolts will do you fine.

but also it depends on the hp goals you wanna make: for 220+/- stock parts should last you. its all in the tuning

Unless if you plan on doing 500whp, you should be fine under that.

Whats a fastener? Do you mean the head bolts? Yes, you need arp head bolts (head studs?). The stock head bolts are notorious for having the head lift in a F/I motor.

Hell, a stock block with arp head bolts can hold 300whp if tuned correctly. I have no idea how long it would last. Tuning is key. Otherwise just blow up the motor urself instead of having the turbo do it for you.

Thats great. 6-8 psi on what turbo? A t25 or a gt42r?

You dont need any sleeving for that man..

Just get some forged rods and pistons with some arp rod bolts..new oem bearings or even acl(not my personal favorite).Get some arp head studs because d-series are notorious for having headlift which blows out head gaskets.Do some porting in the intake and exhaust side of the head,,and get a decent cam,,even a stock sohc zc cam will give you noticeable gains with boost..You may or may not need upgraded valve springs and retainers,,Really depends on the rev range and what cam you want to use..Go with some sort of t3/t04 turbo,,Or a t3 super 60..Or gt28r,gt28rs..All up to you
