short ram or cold air?
I heard that cold air provides a 2 hp increase but thats just what I heard. If you decide to go cold air just make sure you keep a short ram handy in case you need to switch it out for rain.
Basically:
short ram yeilds more power at higher rpms
cold air yeilds better torque in low rpms
this has always been my experience....please correct me if im wrong
Now we're only talking in the 1-2 hp range...not a big difference. Id say go with a good short ram (I use the K&N FIPK2, and am very happy with it. The plastic housing stays much cooler than some aluminum ones Ive used before. Even cai.) Plus Its just not worth the potential to suck up water...huge puddles and unpredictable weather here in N. Florida.

however i guess if rain is a problem since your in NY then get a short ram with a heat shield (to block heat from the exhaust manifold)

Get a SRI. The 1-2HP is not going to be worth the trouble IMO. I used to have an AEM CAI, but with my current car I just went the AEM SRI route because it was cheaper ($70 shipped NEW) and I am not always paranoid when going over little puddles and etc.

unfortunately i did not get that in time...

saw a thread here that say short ram have better response and peak power .. its been proven that when the car starts moving that the air inside the hood is not much different than that of a cold air .. so if i was u i get a short ram .. an intake is an intake so either way it wont be much different .. but it is a easy and cheap bolt on
i would get the Password:JDM powerchamber intake its a ram air and its $179 they are dyno's proven to make 6.5 whp and 7.4 ftq http://passwordjdm.com/product...D=373 my one good friend has it and he loves it and it looks great too!
