WHO's using magnaflow exhausts?
im looking into a new muffler for my prelude and i decided im gonna go with magnaflow. my prelude is an h23 non vtec so im a little worried about the tone that a magnaflow would produce. i want a nice deep tune but not too loud. do i go with the street series or race series?i have 2.25 piping already so i will just be welding the muffler on to that. any input would be great also pics if u want to. thanks .
I have a Magnaflow 2.5" on mine along with a high flow cat and 2.5" piping. It sounds awesome except that I get that raspy tone from 2500-3000 rpms only. It's a good muffler I would just recommend a resonator for better sound...

oooo that looks hot man. u got any sound clips? also is that the street or race series? and by raspy do u mean like that rice can sound
? and do u not have a resignator at all?

I don't know if it's street or race...picked it at the exhaust place. Yeah, it's a nasty sound, but I don't have a resonator.

In that thread that pirate posted sound clips, the first one is without a resonator and an ebay muffler. The last one is with a magnaflow resonator and muffler, I think.

It just quiets it down...I wish I had one on mine.

i have the same setup, its a lil raspy when its cold n it can get a lil raspy when u really get on it but other than that its not too bad. it backfires every now n then n it gurgles sometimes when slowin down/down shifting. if i could do it over again i would have put a resonator in there too. i wont be doin anythin anytime soo though bc im leavin for bootcamp in 3 weeks. when i get back from wutever i end up doin ill start with my car again...god im gonna miss it

sounds good, thanks for the input. lol no one uses resonators anymore? is the stock resonator enough or should i put a bigger one or add another one?
Hey I've got a Magnaflow muffler with a resonator on my 95. 2.5" pipes from the header back. Megan racing header. I didn't always have a resonator. It was waaaay loud before that; now it's just loud lol.
I had the N1 Apexi catback on it before; couldn't stand it. Rice rice rice...so I bought the muffler and really couldn't be happier.
The sound itself is VERY low, like it has a much larger engine than it does. The only thing is since it got rear-ended in August, the exhaust makes a wierd vibrating/rattling that may or may not be related to the muffler. It might just be the heat shield or something. It goes away after it warms up.
The thing I like most is how it burbles. Doesn't backfire, though. Overall I am very happy with it.
