Default Timing off? or bent valves.............

As some of you may know from my last post, I just put on a brand new head. The car ran Great! Other than the fact that it was leaking oil... Due to bad Cam gear seal. So while replacing that, I think I may have threw timing off some, I tryed to adjust it to perfect settings.
So I started my car up and it idled perfect, With lil poping in exhaust that I dont remember hearing before, Or It may have done it before I dont remmeber, and the intake is "humming" I hear a humming coming from intake.........

Anyway, while leaving, I get on it a lil in first gear and My intake IS LOUD as ****! Never been this loud!!!!!!! My intake is loud!!!! and the car has no *****! So......
fromt what i have told you, we agree timing is off?

My real question is, am I going to mess **** up driving like this for 1 more day or 2 at the latest? I bent the valves in the last head and Im scared as hell to bend the valves again! as this is a BRAND spankn' new head with everything new on it!!!!!!!!!!

ok, ill answer my own question, Obviouysly, the timing is off, the intake valaves are opening too soon??

the question I wanna know right now is..... if I drive with it like this for another day, will the car/valves be ok? Its like 1 tooth off timing......................................... nothing major..

Your fine. Just reset the timing. You were probably hearing the different intake noise because the valve timing/lift dramatically changes the sound of the motor.

i used to have the same problem. Resetting the timing?wtf?

i tried lots of things and didnt work so i decided to sell the car. Timing was fine but more likely it was a bent valve.

Well, I have been driving it to and from work now, im on break, a smal lil break, and the car seems to be ok, Im pretty sure in my own mind ill be ok, besides, the loud *** intake sound is Kinda cool..........

Not cool if I bent a valve, but im sure I wont, I "try" not to go into WOT...............

If it's one tooth off why don't you just fix it real quick?

Only takes like 5 minutes max.

- Bring the bottom end to TDC
- Take off upper timing cover
- Slide timing belt off cam gear
- Use wrench to move cam to TDC
- Slide timing belt back on
- Replace upper timing cover

Done deal.

Why drive around like this when you know the problem??
