Default are immobilizers any help to prevent thieves?

I have just noticed that I have an immobilizer in my car...do they protect my car to a certain extent?

it doesn't help much.. Most theives know how to go around it now..

All you have to do is plug in a new ECU and wala no mor imobi.

And no I dont steal cars it is I have been doing reseach with Acura as to how I am going to get around it for my swap. I was stupid enough to buy a P73 00-01 ECU for my B18C5

its very easy to use that ecu. if your good with a soldering gun you can remove the immobilzer. Thats what ive done on 3 local integras and civic and its worked.

Civic ecu takes care of the imobilzer realyl easily.

Yeah, but you got to get to the ECU first, unbolt it then unplug it. Takes too long. Must be a easier way.
