Default oil filter wont screw on

Hi guys,

I got a pretty big problem, the threaded male portion of the block on my z6 broke off. The oil filter wont stay on... i can only get it threaded on about a half turn. am i totaly screwed?

what i did before was get an oil sandwich adapter and jbwelded that to the block and screwed the oil filter onto that. but I would really like your opinions on any other fixes that do NOT require replacing the block (because its built).
^the above fix only lasted about 6months.. before the oil seeped through the jbweld and fell off. all i can say is oil everywhere!!!

Thanks

Really shitty deal. Maybe a filter relocation kit would work? You might have to get the end of the braided line welded onto the broken bung and it would be permanent, but you would have your filter falling off anymore. I'm not sure if getting a new threaded bung welded in place of the old one would work.

All of this is assuming its cast along with the block (1 piece). Maybe its a separate part that can be removed and replaced?? ?

yes its cast, and not a serviceable part. I wasnt to sure how well welding steel to aluminum would work out. lets brainstorm everyone!

i dont know about the area around the oil filter, but could cut the remaining thread off have some sort of adparter fabed or something and tap it into your block or welded it into your block for the relocation kit i dunno, maybe????
