Default Oil Filter Holder Problem. Help needed

Does anyone have access to an oil filter schematic on an B18A block. At the machine shop the oil filter holder was removed. I threaded in a new one and threaded on the oil filter and now it is leaking oil around where the filter seals.

The filter is visually touching the back of the block (although not sure with how much force). My question is the oil filter holder; is there a washer or gasket or anything else that should be instlaled with it. Also how do you get this thing tight all the way in the block. There is not even a place for an hex key to fit for tightening reasons.

I need help. Thanks guys.

So your saying the nipple with treads is not completely in the block? Or the filter is leaking at the rubber seal? Either way, get a oil can tightening/removal tool, and tighten it down real snug, but not too tight. Also try teflon tape on the treads.

Need more help.

How do you guys tighten the oil filter holder back into the block. There is no fitting. I am not talking about the oil filter itself but the theaded portion on the back of the block that threads into the block on one side and the other has threads for the filter to spin onto. Thanks.

Its not an "oil filter holder" its just the the threading. I thought it was physically part of the block. Why dont you ask the shop how they removed it?

Actually Honda/Acura calls it a oil filter holder in thier parts catalog. I was hoping someone here who has built a few blocks had the pleasure of reinstalling one themselves. Back up for help.

well....you could find two M20X 1.5 nuts and put them on the threads, tighten the top one and it will tighten it into the block.

But good luck finding those nuts...I've been trying to find them for the opposite reason, I want to get the threads out so I can put an OEM Oil cooler on the block I have. Most places want you to buy many of them (like 25)
