recently bought a 94 accord auto ex for a a daily driver with 150k. but when i was driving on the high way around 70mph and when the revs are around 3k the car seems to rev up a few hundred by itself but stay the same constant speed. i am thinking the tranny is slipping and i found a tranny for $450 but wondering how much labor would be. But before i look into switching trannies i am going to change the tranny fluid with honda ATF tomorrow to see if that will help.

 

when the trans goes in and out of torque converter lockup the RPM will change at least a couple hundred. If you are seeing the RPM change while crusing level road and light or steady throttle it is normal.

 

but it feels like the tranny is slipping because of how it jumps a few hundred Rpm's while cruising. i only notice it when i am going like 70mph on a the highway on a straight level road.

 

Had this problem in my 97. Fluid change/4 times solved it. This was 25,000 miles ago.

 

i am goin to try that cuz i dont have the funds to replace the tranny and today when i was driving around it kept doin it. it felt like the tranny was hesitating when shifting goin 40 and up
