Default Auto Tranny slipping

I have a 96 Honda Accord with 226,000 miles on her. She's been running like a champ until recently. Today my tranny has been slipping. I almost didn't make it back to work from lunch. It feels like the tranny is stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear and then my "check engine" light came on. Any idea what the problem could be? I just had my tranny fluid drained and filled Saturday and its full. A new tranny is not in my budget right now. This couldn't have happened at a worse time then now. I'd appreciate you guy input. Thanks.

well thats when things happen. If you have a really high mileage car changing the tranny fluid can actually screw you over. The new fluid will let parts flow more easily again and may break stuff. Had it happen on me in an 84 firebird and 93 civic (both autos) they both went in about 300 miles from the tranny fluid change. You could do a complete flush since fluid stays in the torque converter or just take it somewhere and ask for a tranny flush since garages have equipment to flush the tranny and test the fluid and do an analysis on it. You could try running seafoam or lucas stuff.
