I have a 96 dx hatch, with a D16y7 stock engine.

I'm planning on dropping a B18 in it but until then it's my daily driver and just recently my idle has been surging.

I found LOTS of things it can be, but the only thing i haven't been able to find is the FITV (Fast Idle Thermo Valve).

I have an EX coupe and i can see it clear as day, but on the DX i can't find the bugger...

I'm thinking it's part of the throttle body but i'm not sure.

Anybody know about this on a D16y7?

No they dont.

 

so if thats the case you might wanna try just cleaning ur IAVC i'm in the process of doing mine, goodluck with ur surging

 

sounds like vacuum leak.

Use carb cleaner and spray it all over your intake manifold, around all gasket areas and what not. IF you engine stumbles or dies, there is your vacuum leak.
