***** Sea Foam PROBLEM, NEED HELP!! *****
I have a 95 GSR with 92,000 miles on it I used seafoam this morning and I am now having trouble starting my car.
I turned the car on, and opened the vacuum line that goes directly to the IM. I then put around 2/3 of a can into the Vacuum Line (YES I MAY HAVE PUT TOO MUCH )
Then i Put 1/3 in the Oil and some of another can in the gas. Then put around 3 gallons of gas in afterwards.
Then i proceeded to start the Car.. My worst nightmare.. it wouldnt start.
After about 3 or 4 attempts at getting her to turn over i stop and let her sit for 15 minutes.
I then Try again to turn her over. No luck. I open the Vacuum line completely and try to start it, just hoping it may help. No luck.
Im pretty paranoid right now and if ANYONE can help it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

You said that you put 2/3's of a can in the vacuum line. Did the car stall? Did it keep running? You may just have too high of a concentration of seafoam in the gas tank with too little gas or too much in the intake manifold for the spark plugs to ignite the fuel.
Hydro locking the engine is a possibility if you kept pouring in seafoam after the engine stalled out. But if you did hydro-lock, the engine would of had a hard time turning over. Did you have to keep trying to get the crank to turn? I hope not, because a hydro-lock can cause a bent rod real easily. If it is hydro-locked, meaning the starter won't turn the crank over, remove your plugs, then turn it over to shoot the contents of each cylinder out.
If the engine turns over freely, I would spray some starter fluid in the throttle bottle to get the engine started. It will run ruff, but should be able to burn off the seafoam once it starts running. The other thing you might try is to wire brush your spark plug electrodes which might be all fouled out. Good luck.

Re: ***** Sea Foam PROBLEM, NEED HELP!! ***** (JTN GSR)
Well, after me freaking out that i damaged my engine. The problem turns out to be the Distributor or the Wires. I put new NGK platinum spark plugs, set the gap of them to .05in, after it had sat for six hours and it STILL wouldnt turn over. So I got desperate and took the spark plugs out and turn it over with them just in the wires, no spark. and it consistantly did this on all cylinders even with other spark plugs. So i have no narrowed my problem down to the Distributor or Wires... Most likely the distributor.
Thank everybody for their help, i still cant believe i did all this.. lol i feel like an idiot.
Thanks

Re: ***** Sea Foam PROBLEM, NEED HELP!! ***** (Hoonty)
i've used seafoam twice. once it made the engine run like HELL for several works. i know that **** isn't in the system for that long, so don't give me the "it has to work it's way out" crap. i did it just before an oil change (1 day before) and i added it very slowly to vacuum line, added 1/4 to oil and 1/4 to gas. believe me it was all out in a week. but it still ran like crap. for like 6-8 weeks. i still think it used to run better than it does. it also burns a little bit of oil now.
the other car i used it one it was okay, but i saw no gains at all of any kind after using the product. least to say i won't use it on my own vehicle.

Re: ***** Sea Foam PROBLEM, NEED HELP!! ***** (JTUNER)
Just noticed this was archived. So i thought i was share my resolution.
My car would drive at first. But it wouldnt go over 2500rpm. It was like it was redlining @ 2500rpm. I worked on it till around 2 that night. and went to bed. Next morning i woke up and started working on it before i had to goto work. It wouldnt start. I changed the Spark plugs, Wires, Oil, checked the injectors, cleaned the intake control valve, Drained the gas and put new 93 in, oil, oil filter and checked every vacuum hose. But still, It would idle then bog down and if you tapped the gas it would die immediately. Then it started backfiring. Symptoms of Timing off right?
It turned out that my first (OEM) distributor got its ignitor ruined (didnt know at the time) So I replaced the distributor with a Distributor King one.. THEN IT WENT OUT. The Dist. King one had a sensor on it go bad. This sensor keeps the distributors timing on. (From what I understand ). So it had the symptoms of the timing off. We set the timing numerous times and it still was acting this way. I had to have my car and couldnt wait on an exchange form Dist. King. So i swapped out the ignitor in the Dist. King's into my OEM housing and its been working for nearly two months now. Moral of the Story.. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS .. and... im a dumbass
Sorry if i ramble. Just trying to gete verything in. Hope this helps anyone in the future.
I AM NOT KNOCKING DISTRIBUTOR KING. I think the leftover seafoam in my engine caused the sensor to fail. They probably would have exchanged it without problem

Re: ***** Sea Foam PROBLEM, NEED HELP!! ***** (JTUNER)
where exactly is the sensor in the distributor? i am having a hard time comprehending how the seafoam could have caused it to go bad because I dont think it could come in contact with any of the dizzy's sensors?
