Default just bought car, accidently put octane 87 in it, what should i do?

so i went and put 20 bucks of gas in my car today cuz i just bought it, right before putting in the gas i looked through my manual real fast nad didn't see anything about octane rating, so i put in 87 unleaded in it, so now i have like 7 gallons or so in there, and the highest octane they sell here is 91, should i fill the rest of the tank with 91 and hopefully is sorta evens out? or should i just take a long drive going really easy on the car watching temperature or what? i have no clue, what do i do!?!? thanks guys, oh yea, it's a 97 prelude base model

Not sure about the effects on runnin that gas through but pourin in about 15 bottles of octane booster is also an option.

Drive it like normal. The car will pull timing and you'll be fine.

Just try not to do it again

actually its not unhealthy at all for a motor to run lower octane through every once in a while. just put 91 in next time, and drive like normal.

my ex co-worker did that when the boss went out of town for a week and left his car with him... He didn't notice the Premium only on the dash, and put 87 in about 4 times that week. Car ran fine, but I'm sure he wasn't getting the performance out of it it could have been doing.

I think he'll be fine mixing in some premium gas.........everything should go well - it'll act like an octane booster i guess......

it'll mix and average out somewhere around 89 depending on volume of each. Lower octane gas is good for your injectors, and unless you are turbo or have high compression, it won't hurt anything.

You're fine. Honda tuned the cars from the factory to compensate for dipsticks like you

They got a knock sensor there for a reason....

Floor it until you hear pinging noises - that's the fuel jettison kicking in, and it will clean the gas tank out quickly.
Just kidding, never ever ever listen to me.
