Default Why I will not buy AEM anymore.

So the the other night at about 7k rpms my motor sounded like it blew. I assumed a retainer failed like the last time my motor went pop. Well I was wrong. It was my AEM 5 bolt cam gear that was the source of my problem. I just can't figure out how it would break like that. You'd think that the timing belt would snap before that would happen. I guess Honda OEM ownz AEM aftermarket. Anyways, AEM will be getting an email from me in about 5 seconds.

Sorry to hear your problem. But aftermarket cam gears have a tendency to do this.

I have a friend who just a integra GSR with AEM CAI, when I was checking over the car the bypass plastic thingy almost being sucked into the intake and probably into the throttle body, I uninstall it right away and put back the OEM airbox...AEM sucks sometimes but I've heard their EMS are somewhat decent?

I sent AEM an email and am waiting for a reply. I saw on the post about the Golden Eagle cam gear breaking that Golden Eagle replaced the guy's cam gear right away for free with the newer stronger design. It will be interesting to see if AEM has rockin' customer service like Golden Eagle.

Well, as far as I can tell the motor is fine. I just visually inspected the head and it seems all the springs and valves are seating fine and nothing looks majorly damaged. I just installed my stock cam and cam gear and am awaiting a new screw that broke when I removed the valve train assembly to see if it'll run. If it does then great, but if it doesn't then thats pretty sucky.

For real. Because this the cam gear broke I've been without my ride for a couple weeks now. I had to empty out my savings to buy me a beater to get around in just so I wouldn't lose my jobs.
