has anyone ever attempted to do a full F20C swap into a civic, full RWD, drive shaft, diff, subframe. i know honda tuning did the DC2 awd with CRV parts??? some feed back is it possible

Hey, I know on EG and EKs you can fit an H22. You can fit a B16, B18, D16, and K20 if ya want to. Since the F20C is an F series, assuming you get a accord M/T, anyone think its possible to mount the F20C transversely and FWD like a F22B or somethin?

 

a s2k with a accord tranny has been done, retaining the car as a FWD.

an F20 and F series/accord motors have almost no resemblance

 

yes, with some modification that tranny from a kseries car will fit...

the problem in mounting the f20c is that one one side there are no mounting points so that would take some ***** to overcome...

Also what is the point doing a fwd f20c when k series is one step further than f series with the addition of ivtec... Sure the s2000 motor has some nice things about it but the s2000 ecu sucks. I cannot be flashed like the k series ecus can.

 

i have the money, but the real point is I want to try RWD conversion in a civic, i could throw in an H22 if i wanted but the RWD intrests me

 

i was wondering about compatibility and interchangable F series parts and if it WAS doable, i didnt say it was practical. For the cost, id rather go H22, and if I had the cash, id go K20 myself.

There's a guy on here, don't remember his name thou, but I guess he works for a fabrication shop and they put a big block V8 into a EG with a Funny/Top Fuel car rear end. If you have the money, time, and most of all <U>dedication</U> then do it.

 

If you have to ask, you're not going to do it.

**** if i had the money and time, I'd do it just for the experiance and doing something different, that is if he's actually going to do the fabrication himself...if not then yeah see above ^^^

 

btw if you are asking about that civic with the S2K engine it did run I saw it with my own eyes. He is from Montreal anyways point being is it would be a waste of time trust me he had to back the dash and everything about foot back to make the fucken thing fit in and then he had alot fabrication done to it to make everything else fit. He had the engine bay made a little bigger. But think about it, it is completly not worth it. Plus you dont know what problem you can have long term bc you have no warranty. If I were u just go and get an S2K bc for the money you would have to spend it wouldnt be worth it when you can buy a brand knew one for the same price. Dont forget it took the guy like 1years and couple of months to finish it and have it up and running. In the end it ran but wit no official times.
