Default Making carbon fiber parts?

My hood is kind of dented up and i had to drill it for hood pins (no flaming, they were required to fit my intercooler). The holes are now rusting out, i figure i might as well make a carbon fiber one. I can fill my dents with bondo before taking a mold. Is the best way of taking a mold laying fiberglass over the hood, then making a copy of the hood from fiberglass from the mold and lay carbon cloth over the fiberglass copy?

What product do you suggest for a carbon resin?

I'd simply need a large air tight bag and seal to a vacuum cleaner.

post in welding\fabrication, those guys know what they are talking about when making cf parts

id reccomend starting smaller, like a radio block off plate out of cf, then move your way up to a hood eventually

I usually use "O 16581 72452 5", i didn't get a confirmation e-mail and had to add something to register a new name.

It's the username i've had for years around the 'net, i'm not changing it.

I'll see what Welding/Fabrication says. Yeah, i'm sure i sound like a douche bag from this thread, but i enjoy DIY projects.
