**1slowcrx** and how he is screwing me
This is fairly long winded, but please read the entire thing. This is the last draw, I really didn't want to make this public, but I have no choice.
Back in January I bought a "mint" condition built b18a bottom end from 1slowcrx (david nguyen). It was built with eagle rods, ross pistons and oem bearings. He was selling it because he needed the money, and said the block ran beautifully.
Given David has a decent sized vouch list, and the fact it was a good deal at $900, I bought it. Two weeks later it came, packaging was terrible, with only a single piece of plywood and some small pieces of Styrofoam thrown in there. He didn't plug the oil pan drain so the left over oil was everywhere, anyway, the block wasn't damaged so I didn't care.
Given the initial inspection the block looked good. Everything was what he said it was and I was happy. I pulled off the oil pan to make sure they were in fact eagle rods, which they were. While in the process of taking pictures I captured a picture of some burn marks on the edge of one of the crank journals, however, I didn't notice it at this point in time(I will get into this further in the post). I made sure it was clean and there was no debris in the pan and continued to bolt it back up.
So another 2 weeks went by and I finally got around to swapping the blocks. I had a stock b18a in the car at the time. During the swap everything went well, I replaced the headgasket and installed arp head studs to complement the built bottom end. I pulled the spark plugs and continued to prime the oiling system.
Once I primed the oil pump, I fired up the motor only to hear a rather loud tapping sound which I initially dismissed to be excessive piston slap cause by the rather large piston to wall clearance that ross calls for. I let the engine warm up, noticing the tapping sound had decreased in volume. I took it for a test drive and everything felt good, the motor was smooth. For the next few days I drove the car like normal, but was starting to get rather annoyed at this tapping sound.
I then made this post: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1152270
From the replies I received from that I started to get a little nervous.
I then decided to pull the pan, and this is what I found. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1161981
I talked to david over PM's and at first he was hesitant to help me out, claiming it was me who was at fault and that I must of installed the block incorrectly. He then realized after looking at the evidence it was him who was at fault and decided he would help me out. He then PROMISED me he wouldn't screw me and he would sort this whole mess out.
During this time I was looking at the pictures I first took of the block when it arrived. Remember in the first paragraph I mentioned I was taking pictures of the rod caps? well here they are, and you can see in this pic the burn marks forming on the crank. This is BEFORE I installed it into my car. I didn't take notice to this, I wish I did.

Oh yeah, and a pic of the piston(#4) when I received the block. I didn't take notice to this either. I assumed the block was "mint", because that's what david said.

Anyway, back to the story. At this point I simply requested for him to refund my money, minus the shipping costs(cost me $150US to ship up here to Canada). He said he couldn't, saying he had already spent the money. I was being cautious about being to up front, because I didn't want to **** him off and have him **** me completely.
He suggested that he could send the parts needed to fix this mess, I said ok. We agreed on a new crank, rod, piston and bearing. It took roughly a couple of weeks to finally get this out of him. It takes him a while to respond to PM's.
He then said to give him some time to gather the parts, and he will PM me when he has them.
A month or so passes and I started to get a little bit annoyed. I PM'd him asking if he has them yet. He replies saying he has the crank, rod, and bearing, but still needs to find a piston. At this point I was happy because it was starting to come to a resolution. I give him a couple more weeks and then PM him again. He says he still hasn't found one.
I give him ANOTHER month, and ask him again. He says he is working on it. I then say forget it, just send me enough money to buy a piston, I can find one on my own. He doesn't reply. I PM him the next day saying: Please send me the rod, crank, bearing and $100 US, and this whole situation will be over and I will be satisfied. He doesn't reply. I wait another week or so. No reply.
I PM'd him again saying you clearly are NOT going to deal with this, I will have to go public. It's shitty it had to come to this.
He replyed saying he dosen't have any money. I Pm'd him back saying you already have the crank and rod, just ship it out.
He says ok, he will send it. I wait another week, nothing, I pm him again saying WTF are you doing, I want my parts. He dosent reply.
Now I waited ANOTHER week, so here I am.
Hopefully this post puts enough pressure on him, all I want are my parts. That's all.

I guess vouches don't really mean much </TD></TR></TABLE>
this is why the moderators dont promote vouch list anymore because too many variables. i dont know what you can do in this situation due to the fact that you seem to be in canada. i wish you the best in working out this mishap.

a middle finger to those that sell parts they know are bad but sell them anyway as good condition or they misadvertise on purpose, but then the worse part is they pull the "I already spent the money. I don't have money to refund you." crap.

I HATE scammers, I really hate to see good honest people get screwed out of their hard earned money. I really hate people like 1slowcrx, they really give socal a bad name. If you need help filing a small claims court case against him, pm me, because the 909 does have courts and it sucks to get jacked, karma is a . . .
Looks like he is selling a lot of stuff. I would be all over his ads with links to here.
