Look at your block, it's stamped there.

if you have two vtec solinoids, then it's a jdm ek obd2 sohc... it's a "fuel efficient" head.

P2J is most likely a y8 head.

if it has 2 vtec solenoids its the 2 stage vtec obd2 head. gets as good a fuel milage at best as teh vx/hx models but makes 127 or 130 hp.....

oh yeah and that distributor sure does look like the one found on a d16a6.

okay...what do you guys mean by 2 vtec solenoids? i only see one...or is it a internal thing?! Could you guys tell from the picture i provided? Or need a side or back shot of it to tell?

Also, if it were a obd2, would the obd0 bolt to the head no prob? Kinda weird don't you guys think?

I only see ONE VTEC solenoid

And a Dist Plug that kinda looks like another

For sure it's Single VTEC

It's JDM since there's no US serial Numbers above the exh (unless it's Canadian)

P2J = 96^ SOHC VTEC head casting (same as our D16Y8)

So you can say it's JDM SOHC VTEC 96^

P2J is the same head casting for the D16Y8 and the 3stage VTEC D15B, but no secondary VTEC Solenoid means it's SINGLE

The valvetrains on both are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!!

okay well i guess it might be a JDM EK motor? So in order to ues this in a mini me setup, id have to use the USDM d16z6 distributor correct? Also with the P28 ecu...

*its going into the EG9 btw*

AND what are the differences with the valvetrain? Hotter more aggressive cam? More peak HP/TQ? Elaborate more please...

Oh and i called Honda...they don't know either...parts guy said the head was made with VTEC using a OBD0 distributor ONLY in Japan, thus making the head POSSIBLY a JDM head. Everything just doesn't make sense...

Thanks for the help so far!
