I am almost sure the ITR LSD will drop into a 99-00 B16 tranny.. but does it fit? I'm too lazy to cross reference part numbers at Quaiffe...

 

My friend has one. Its a jap spec lsd though.. Im sure its the same as the usdm one though. It worked for his b16a3. Good luck

 

I thought they were good with all B-series trannies.

 

I hate to say you may want to check that out in the archives of http://www.clubsi.com. I thought the US spec ITR LSD would not fit in the Si trannies but I can't remember why. I've seen them put into GSR trannies and del Sol VTEC trannies though.

I already put one in my GSR .. but I wondered if I bought a B16 swap for my civic would I be able to go LSD for cheap since the ITR LSD's can be had for $450 or less new or barely used.

if you swap on your final drive ring gear to the lsd it will work, no prob.

 

The B16 ring gear does not fit. You need the GSR ring gear.

 

B16A/B17A/B18AorB(SI, 92-93GSR,LS,RS,GS) diffs are the same part#60.309.160, but the B18C 94+GSR or TypeR has a different part #60-309-180.

 

yezzer! it should fit quite nicely, try upgrading the final while youre at it, and *poof*, you have a type R tranny. cool huh, very costly though.

He's right, but you need an ITR final drive ring gear, I believe. My friend swapped one in for someone before and fell into that problem.
