Default Terrible pictures because I suck, but my d16y8 head I just got back from Portflow.

Edited pics so they actually work now!

I'll spare you the jibber jabber, ported, valve job, installed Crower springs/retainers, Supertech valves, milled .020", wasnt bead blasted so its not the prettiest head in the world, but its whats on the inside that counts anyways right!?

Going on along with Crower stage 2, Edelbrock Performer X, SMSP 4-1 staggered header, and some other stuff that makes the engine run.

I'm very pleased, now considering I've never done any engine work I've just got to find the ***** to swap it on. Linking to pics cause they suck and that way when you deem them terrible you only have to close another window instead of closing out of HT! Comments/flaming welcome!

that head looks so clean its a shame it has to get dirty. im wanting to go all motor on my y8 and was wondering where you ordered your cam and valvetrain? are you boosting your motor.

bump for a nice head

I would have posted in FI if I was boosting.

I got my valvetrain from Crower, valves from Earl here on HT, who also helped me getting the head to Portflow , and got the cam from http://www.tunerschoice.com (Ross, sponsor here on HT as well). I should have gotten the whole valvetrain from Ross, woulda saved a bit of money, but whats $50 bucks going to be when its all said and done?

I already had fixed them 137, and I linked to them for a reason, mostly so no one would notice my terrible resizing job!

Come on dude.....hit us with some lift point #'s and some flow #'s. It sure does look pretty,k but I am gettin gcurious as to what RPM range this head should operate in. I need #'s so I can crank the math!!!!

what is the point of that ball bearing in the head? i see the gasket doesnt cover it up. dont mean to jack the thread just very curious. i see a hole in the top of the flange as well in the manifold, im assuming that is for the ball bearing in the head. is there supposed to be a line running from that hole into the manifold? never noticed this before.
