CRVtec B20/GSR build. Water leaking. HELP.
Finally finished building the motor. Started the engine, 10secs after water was leaking from all sides of the head. Took out the head again and checked if the headgasket was put on right. Slapped the head back on and even before i started the engine, water was already leaking. What could be causing this? Head and block was milled. OEM B20 gasket and TypeR headstud was used.
My builder has done many B20 block/PR3 had setups. This is his first B20 block/GSR head build. Could he have missed out something with the conversion?

Water wasnt leaking from any hose or neck. It was coming from in between the head and the block.

Did you have the dowell pins that locate the head machined at all? If your block or head was milled the dowell pins need to be shortened so the the gasket can still be crushed.

get the block decked, and put it back together, just take a straight edge and put across the block, then take some feeler guages to it. See how big the gap is in all places. Also check the head just to be sure. Make sure that they didnt belt sand the surface of the head, i know it sounds stupid, but if you live in alabama, that is what some machine shops will do. If they belt sanded the head, the surface will not be shiny what so ever, rather rough looking and metal head gaskets dont like it without some type of copper spray between the metal head and the metal head gasket.
