Custom CP Pistons 87.5mm

These three sets are the newest X-style forging from CP Piston. We originally purchased their shelf SC7147x for the K24 (12.5:1) in 87mm only to find out that the intake valve relief wasn't sufficient to run our most aggressive cam at full 50 degrees VTC advance. So, we had these made with an additional 0.065" intake valve relief. Plus, we changed up the ring package to run a 2.0mm oil ring instead of the shelf piston 2.8mm oil ring. The static compression of these are 12.2:1 in a K24 and ~11.1:1 in K20A(2) configuration. We decided not to bring the dome cc up to compensate for the deeper intake valve relief since pump gas works well on 12:1 for K-series street motors. These CP pistons feature the only dome that extends furthest to the edge. So far, the rest are very conservative and have a greater margin, thereby giving up material which could have been used for more compression.
These pistons are intended for K24 blocks that do not wish to sleeve, but should overbore 0.5mm to get the cylinders round. They can also be used in 2.0L blocks, but you should check out cylinder wall thickness of your block as it may be too thin at 87.5mm on the K20A(2).
3 sets of Cunninghams in K20A(2) length and 3 sets of Pauter K24 length are in production to go with these guys for more testing.

guilty as charged....
My name is Ron and I'm a K-series addict....
Placed another custom order today too... 90mm version of this with a little twist. They'll be mated to the Cunningham Ti rods and an 88mm crank.
