What tires to run with my 16" rota's?...need opinions
I picked up a set of Rota GT3's for my EK hatch recently, but i'm really skeptical about what tire sizes to go with. If you guys can post up pics of your cars (preferalby EK hatches, but EG's and DC are welcome also) with the tires sizes your running and any good or bad comments you have about them. Keep in mind that i will be lowered approx. 3".
If you guys can give my your suggestions on this i'd really appreciate it

+42 offset, and i'm actually aiming for the hardcore camber to save me from rubbing
Prior to the Rota's, i was lowered only 1.7" and i was running 17" wheels, +42 offset with 205/40/17. The front's would only rub when i would take tight corners at higher speeds.
So now that i went lower, and with smaller rims, i'm wanna go with the lowest profile tire i could without making it look stupid, so that's why i need to see pics of 16" rims with different profiles. I'm thinking if i go with 205/45/16 it would be ideal.

45's definately.....I have 50's on my 16" rotas, and boy let me tell you those tires are huge....my fenders arnt liking them
I personally liked the 205/50/16. Ride was smooth and only rubbed occationally around a hard turn with H&R sport springs. I raised it back to stock height with the HKS Hypers in that pic and didn't have any rubbing issues.
If you are willing to roll your fenders you can use some pretty large tires. I have the largest size 16 azenis. The rear rubbed but rolling the fenders and setting my camber(which needed to be done anyways) solved it. You won't be able to lower your car as much I would imagine.
I've got a 99 civic coupe lowered about 3 inches on 16x7 slips, dont know the offset but i think its 40. I've got 205/45's and i dont rub, in the back its very close but it does'nt. I have no camber kit as of now either.

This is a great tire size calculator!
The 205/45/16 is almost the exact same size as the 205/40/17.
I recommend 205/45/16 for your application.

i have gt3s in 16 on nitto neo-gens 205-40-16
i suggest running a 205/45 or 50/16 or a 195/50/16
depends the thickness u want, i know my next tires will be falken azenis 50's. i like the of 50s a lot better.
nittos are real good, have been good to me espically with a 2.5 drop and no camber!!!

Wow, those 205/40's look pretty good.
Im actually bumping up from 15's to 16's and was wondering about tire sizes as well. Everyone mentions rubbing but I was also concerned with the ride.
Ive heard the 205/40's are ALOT more harsh than the 205/45's as far as bumps and dips in the road. Can anyone add to this?

hmm...i'm actually lovin' those 40's your running, it looks real good
Better then what i thought it would look like, and i'm not too worried about the ride being stiffer with the 40's because i'm kinda used to it, i was running my 205/40/17's all sumemr long, and up here in montreal, the roads are like mine fields, they are filled with potholes.

I wouldn't be too worried about the harshness of the ride with 40's, it's not all that bad, but it just depands on how harsh is too harsh for you.

it seems like 45 offset to be a common offset in the honda arena. but that means the wheel is pushed out that much more?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Actually, the smaller the offset (ex. +38), the further out your wheel will stick out.
