Default Mainstream presents- AEBS Vs SIR1 b16 IM

http://mainstreamperformance.com/

thanks to mainstream for hosting my dyno tests, and letting me get a little coolant on the dyno

these #'s were made with the switch from a stock b16 IM/TB from a first gen head, to the AEBS manifold and a type R TB. the car was never pulled off the dyno, to keep the #'s accurate. the stock setup was tuned for about 20 minutes once i got on to achieve the output in blue. the AEBS was tuned for a couple hours, to get the #'s in red. if u were to see the runs, the AEBS improved 2-3whp without tuning, and extended the powerband about 400rpm the tuning was done on BRE (like uberdata) and i ended up with an AFR ~13:1 up top to get those #'s

Mainstream is also selling these manifolds at a special price right now, for HT members.
give them a call 678-567-9384 or email them
mainstream_mail@bellsouth.net

for a price

not bad numbers for just a manifold switch, i would like to see you add some CTR or S2s1 cams an see if you can make more use of that manifold and header. good numbers John

If you want suggestions on tuning, post up AFRs, screenshots of timing charts, etc.

You use the AFC at all on this one?

I highly doubt the throttle body made any difference. It was probably due to the obvious, the intake manifold and "1 hour of tunning"

i have got the AFR's datalogged.

truthfully, i did 52 runs, playing with the AFC +1, -1 looking for the power up top, then i would burn a chip to that and re dyno.

but all the time netted me 2whp and 1 ft lb torque. just wanted to make sure i got the most out of the setup..

and to me i think the throttle body did do much at all, it was just already on, so i used it.

ucan tell by lookin at torque peaks that the powerband was just moved up some, and i had to increase rev limiter from 8000 to 8500 near the end because it was just peaking at 8

How much WHP was gained at 8000rpm? Looks to be about 17whp.

Ohh ... Was this the same motor from this thread? ... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1113834

Cool ...
In first time i always think AEBS/ITR/SKUNK2 manifolds loose some hp on the bottom and win on the top ... And in fact, it's wrong ... No loose ...
I have the same setting ... B16a1 stock ... And i seriously think to buy an aebs manifold ...

Thanks, so you only gained about 2 to 3 hp from tuning, still good though . I wonder if you would see any more gains with one of those intake manifold gaskets that cools down the temps.

hey johnzm, are you obd0 or obd1??? Im currently obd0 and probably gunna go to obd1 do to use of uberdata. I tried useing chrome, and others but just dont seem to be having any luck. I cant help but feel like I could get some more power outta my setup if I was obd1. Nice comparisson too by the way. Its good to see people contributing to the N/A forum.
