The First setting on my windsheild wipers decided to stop working today, WTF!?
So i get in my car and start it up, i turn my wipers to the first setting. The one that wipes once ever 5 seconds or so, and as i drive down the road i notice that i hasnt wiped once since i left my house. So i turn it on the second setting and it works fine, so does the 3rd setting - the really fast one. So now im stuck with either fast windsheild wipers, or off. Why did my car all of a sudden decide that it doesnt want to use the first setting anymore? this is frustrating, now i have to manualy do it every 10 seconds or so. I have a 1998 Civic EX if that helps.
I know on older civics (90) it is controlled by the ICU (grey box on the back of the interior fuse box).
Probably the same on yours (I will check the helms when I get a chance).
Check your fuses and if all are good head to the local salvage yard - it is about $5 @ pull apart (they call it a large relay - which it is (it is more than one actually.....))

1. Check the fuse. On ’92-95 Civics, it’s fuse No. 3 in
the under-dash fuse/relay box. On ’96-97 Civics, it’s
fuse No. 43 in the under-hood fuse/relay box. If the

continue with step 2.
2. Check the input from the ignition key switch to the

faulty.
On ’92-95 Civics, test the BLU/WHT2 wire. (Refer

On ’96-97 Civics, test the BLU/RED wire. (Refer

FIXED!!!! Go into the fuse box under the hood, its the 7.5 fuse near the back, it will show you on the top of the box which one. It says its only for the dome light, but i guess for some reason it controls part of the wipers, because mine work fine now.
hah... almost exactly one year later, I'm having the same problem on my 95 Integra... about to go out now and check the fuse(s)
edit... got it figured out by swapping the 7.5A fuse under the dash....

My mom has a 98 si and there is also a problem with the intermittent wiper setting. When you put them on that setting they don't go the full distance. They keep stopping and starting in random places on the windshield. Any ideas?
