I talking about mileage in excess of 500 not daily 70 mile commutes. I am asking because I'm going to drive my car 700 miles this month(New Orleans to Louisville, KY. Any tips from those who have done long trips before would be great.

 

Well then you asked the right person. I drive the hell out of my car and texas is a huge state. Ive driven from far north(dallas) to south texas which is about 400 each way(I didnt go all the way south). But Im Mr. Road trip guy and I take my car everywhere. You will love your car on the highway and you will also notice that you will do better on gas. I recomend you do it...

well i took a road trip that was about 400 miles... it was fun, only next time i will have my exhaust silencer in... by the time i reached my destination, my ears did not function quite right. I went all that way and still had a good amount of gas left... didn't know a supercahrged car would have such good gas mileage!

 

I drive 100mph at some points, just keep on eye on your egt. At that speed Im around 800Celcius which is ok. Im curious to see what a stock's car egt is at that speed.

800 miles - with an average road speed of 82mph. Hope that helps. - That was through mountains too...

 

I did a two week road trip with my Greddy set and we drove over 3,000 miles! That included cruising everynight and going to a 1/8 mile track in Florida. I wouldn't wanna do the same thing with my new set!

 

the turbo isnt even boosting when your crusing right? so shouldnt have a problem....in the summers i drive about 90 miles to marco island.....summer getaway he he......what about bugs in the intercooler????

 

haha - i was boosting quite alot up the sides of the moutains (up to 17psi) - gotta do a few 120+ mph rips on those straightaways in the middle of the night too...

i drove 1250 miles to Minnesota, then 1320 to upstate NY and then 630 back to Virginia Beach. All within a two week span. Plus I routinely drive the car to Upstate on the weekends.

 

Not a turbo, but I drove from The Big Easy to Meridian, MS back accross through LA and into Houston then from Houston back to the Big Easy. All on 8# boost. I stayed at 80-90 mph. It was one of the longest and coolest trips I've ever done in a weekend.

 

are these miles non stop???

 

they probably have to stop to buy gas.
