Default SRT-4 Intercooler on EF/CRX (mockup pics...you decide)

This is here strickly for resource value. I'm not saying that the IC will or will not fit. It looks like it could with some slight hacking, and removing the AC line (and probably AC radiator).

This would probobaly work best with a D/ZC motor for size restraints.

Anyways heres the pics.

Here it is kinda up in the general position...not flush though (and you would probably move it up a bit too). You would have to relocate the horns (or whatever those are)

Heres the outlet on the passenger side. If you cut out that inside thin peice it should clear. Again remembering this would probably be about 2" higher....where there is already a hole.

Heres the inlet. Its ovalish for whatever reason. This is actually the outlet on the SRT...I have it flipped upside down, I think it will fit better in this application upside down. Same idea here, remove horn, ac lines, and cut hole in thin metal part.

Heres where the passenger side would feed through...its actually a great path...plenty of room.

Heres coming through the drivers side. It would make a 45* angle right to the turbo (if the compressor is on the driver side)

Anyways, I know alot of you guys like to junkyard hunt....so here ya go...another possible source.

Good find, looks like it will be a breeze to fit. AC is way overrated.

it was going around the srtforums.com that the stock srt-4 intercooler was good up around the 500hp on the srt-4.

They do, they have darn near the best set of NA 4 bangers out there. Just b/c you boost doesn't all the sudden mean mopar has gotten they're act together. It's a nice motor, but let's be honest, honda makes a mechanically sound motor.

chrysler has had turbo cars since the early 80s its not like the just threw a turbo on a neon. its not even the same motor as a neon. but i will agree honda does have good reliable motors.

most of our hondas are 12+ years old with 100,000 miles or more, SRT-4s have been out for maybe 2 years. Lets see if they are still running in another 10 years...

but you cant compare the srt to an average honda. you know people who drive those cars are going to get on it, and get on it a lot. its a forced induction motor. as opposed to our n/a. there's so much more power going into that car than most of ours (stock speaking) Our 12+ year old cars are old d and b series motors. the turbo guys usually rebuild before boosting. and how many of us have original motors still? i'm sure a good number do..but how many of them are running high hp numbers. i just dont think there's a comparison to an srt..to your average civic si

We are not compairing a modified civic to a stock SRT... it should be stock for stock. Which one is gonna last longer? Ya an SRT makes more HP BUT it is also built with stronger parts. Still I don't think it will last as long as a honda engine. As far as not getting on a honda as much as a SRT... My crx has 200,000 of the most punished miles around. Reg mant. and I have not a had a problem yet out of it... even ran N2o for a bit. Maby the neon will last 10 years and not have problems... i doubt it but maby.

Why this is turning into a Honda Vs All....I don't know.

If you've owned both then feel free to comment......otherwise just look at the thread for what it is.

Were talking about a good sized OEM front mount that is relativly inexpensive that could <possibly> fit pretty good with some modification.

I guess this would be considered a "back-door" application? would these really support 500hp? I'm kinda of interested, but I'm not feeling too daring this week to be the guinea pig
