Default H22A4 Head on a H22A1 block?

Is it okay? Is there any benefits? Does it even do anything?

It's ok. No benefits, doesn't do anything..
You're not changing anything.. They're both a H22 VTEC Cylinder Head.

u just have to use the headgasket that is for the closed deck OBDI H22a1 block.

differences...none that will be noticeable, if any.

well being that the h22a4 is open deck, you would need to get the headgasket for a 97-01.

h22a4 head on h22a1 block = closed deck 92-95 head gasket
H22a1 head on h22a4 block = open deck 97-01 head gasket

i'm having a brain fart and cant remember if the 96 h22 is open or closed deck...
