Default blowing head gasket on a closed deck block

i have a 1st gen ge closed deck block and i keep on blowing head gasket left and right.. My bore size is 84.5. Is this normal or could there be something else wrong?

Have you machined the head flat after you blew the first gasket?

yeah, sounds like either the head is warped or the deck surface is warped.

Some shops do a good job lapping the block (deck surface) Check the head also. They should have a polished look verses machining tool cutting marks.

No i didn't do that yet.. i thought it blew because the bore size was to big and the closed deck had something to do with it... i was thinkin the closed deck make the block to hot so it burns the head gasket..so resurface the block and mill the head? ill try that

Check it with a straight edge first:

There's no sense milling anything if it's not warped. If you take the head to a machine shop, then they should show you how to use a straight edge to check for warpage, it's pretty easy.
