Default LOWERING

does b & G s2k sport make good shcoks and springs. Are they good enough to prevent ware on a tire from a 1.75-2 inch drop

erm...

The quality of a shock/spring isn't going to effect the wear of the tires.

The amount that you drop the car will effect camber.
Camber isn't the big killer of tires, TOE is. You can fix the toe, and get the camber adjusted at an allignment shop. You can get a camber kit to help get your camber zero'd up if you are worried about it that much.

I had my hatch very low (but not slammed =P ) on some skunk2/tokico blues with NO camber kit, and my tires didn't wear extremely fast. My camber was about -2.1 at worst if I recall.

The quality of a damper & spring combo has nothing to do with uneven tire wear.

The WHEEL ALIGNMENT controls the tire wear - specifically toe. Any time the static ride height of the car is changed, the toe must be reset to 0.00 degrees at all four corners to keep the tires wearing evenly, regardless of camber.

0.00 degrees huh? only on the front, but oem specifically uses atleast 20.0 degrees + of negative toe in the rear.

That is done for handling dynamics, not for tire longevity purposes. It is also in the rear, where tire wear occurs much more slowly than up front (where it is super important to have a spot-on alignment in a FWD car).

The OE rear toe spec is also nowhere near 20.0 degrees (it is fractions of a degree), it is positive not negative (toe-in not toe-out), and it is not the same for all generations of Civic. I don't remember all of the exact OEM alignment specs offhand because I haven't operated an alignment rack in over 18 months.

I personally run a slight amount of toe-out on both ends to achieve my desired handling, but I don't recommend it for street driving. The car is a handful to keep straight on all but the smoothest roads, and the tires get chewed up pretty quickly.
