Default GSR swap Civic, which VSS or plug?

I'm using 99-00 si harness and the swap is a 94 obd1 gsr car is 00 civic. the si harness wont plug into the gsr vss.

Does the Civic(d16y7) VSS fit/work in the gsr tranny? Or do I need to cut the plug off the gsr harness for the VSS and splice them into the Si harness?

tranny doesnt care about obd
For example, Im using a vss from a 97 d16y8 (corresponding harness) in a 95 gsr tranny, using an obd1 p75 ecu
