Default em gasket surface prep..........

what is the best way to clean the surface of the head so it has no more dirt or old gasket(which was not oem), so the new oem gasket will seal properly?

spray the head with carb and choke cleaner and scrub it's mostely alcohol so it shouldn't mess up your head because it evaporates quickly. you may need to scrape the small peices of the old gasket off with a razor blade thought if it won't come off.

the main issue is that there are little flakes of aluminum(I guess) from the surface of the cheap gasket that was on the em. I dont want to replace this again until I swap head/engine so I want to know the gasket will seal

If I am being too picky just let me know

btw
one of the studs came out with the nut
how do I deal with this properly?

please answer in the new thread:
